Vayr ("the app") is a free event discovery guide for Yerevan, Armenia, operated by Danil Chetin. This policy explains exactly what data the app collects, how it is collected, how it is used, and which third parties receive it.
| Data | How it is collected | How it is used | Shared with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple user identifier, and — only if you choose to share them — your name and email | You provide it by signing in with Apple (optional; the app is fully usable as a guest) | To create your account and sync your saved events across your devices | Nobody. Stored on our server only. |
| Saved events, "I'm going" / "Interested" marks, chosen language, interests, tourist/local role | You create it by using the app | To show your saved list and personalize the feed | Nobody. |
| The text of your AI search query | You type it into the "Ask AI" screen — and only after you have explicitly agreed (see section 2) | To extract search filters (category, date, price, mood) so we can find matching events | Google LLC (Gemini API) — see section 2 |
| Approximate location | From your device, only if you grant location permission | Used on your device only to show distance to events and your position on the map | Nobody. Never uploaded to our servers. |
| Anonymous usage counters (number of feed/search requests, opened event cards) and a random device identifier | Automatically, when the app talks to our server | To keep the service working and to enforce daily AI usage limits | Nobody. |
When — and only when — you use the optional "Ask AI" feature, the app sends the text of your search query (for example: "where to go with kids for free this weekend") to a third-party AI service. Nothing else is sent: no name, no email, no Apple ID, no phone number, no location, no history of your previous queries, no saved events.
The AI service is the Gemini API, provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). The query text is transmitted from our server to Google's Gemini API. Google processes it under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. For paid-tier Gemini API usage, Google states that prompts submitted through the API are not used to train Google's models. Google provides protections for this data equivalent to those described in this policy.
Before your very first AI query, the app shows a consent screen that explains what is sent and to whom, and asks you to agree. If you do not agree, no data is sent to Google and the AI feature stays off — everything else in the app (browsing, map, regular keyword search, filters, saved events) keeps working normally. Your choice is enforced on our server: an AI request without a recorded consent is rejected. You can withdraw consent at any time in Profile → AI search.
We keep the query text on our server in a technical log for up to 30 days, solely to monitor cost and prevent abuse. It is not linked to your name or email, is never sold, and is never used for advertising.
The app also uses the Gemini API in the background to structure and translate publicly available event announcements collected from public websites. That process involves no user data of any kind.
Sign in with Apple (Apple Inc.) — authentication only, if you choose to sign in. OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — used server-side to geocode event venue names (never your location).
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time: Profile → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Guests can simply delete the app; nothing personal is retained.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
